Help in customizing settings app aosp build

I’m currently working on a custom AOSP build and I want to customize the Settings app to better suit my project. My goal is to modify, hide, or remove certain options from the Settings app without breaking the rest of the system.

If anyone has experience with custom AOSP builds, modifying Settings, your tips or examples would be very helpful.
