Headunit times out on AAGateway and similar projects when connecting

I have used multiple github projects for using an android phone as a wireless Android Auto adapter.

All of them work on the desktop headunit, however my actual headunit makes it timeout the connection, closing the gateway app, all before the slave device can a connection to the master, which makes it never able to make a full connection to the...
