To start with I have 2 phones doing this, a samsung zfold6 And a pixel 9 pro xl, both stock, no root.
So if I set a custom notification tone for a specific contact in the messages app it works if I receive an sms text or mms message BUT if that contact uses RCS and I'm getting rcs messages from that contact the google messages app only uses the default tone set for all regular incoming messages with no extra category options in notifications to change. I'm lost on this, any advice?
