display but no touch

I dropped my A 32 a few times, cracking the screen but leaving all touch functionality intact, so i replaced the LCD + Digitizer. But quickly realized that i had display but the screen was not responding to any touch. I checked all of the connections, , but was not able to resolve the issue, so i put the old one back on. But now i am also getting a display but without any touch again. Can anyone help me, this has me stumped.. Thank You!
